Terms of Service
We collect information when you use the QuickReceipts mobile application and our website.
QuickReceipts accesses and processes email receipts in your email account (specifically, only Gmail at the moment) that you have connected to our Services. By linking our Services to your email accounts, you authorize us to collect, process, and retain information, including personal information, from those accounts. We use this information only to provide our Services to you.
Email Receipts. Email receipts, also known as commercial messages, are emails you receive or you auto-forward from businesses about subscriptions, sign-ups/cancellations, any account requests and confirmations, purchases, travel, reservations, event tickets, boarding passes, promotions, bills and package shipments, and other similar transactions. We only access and use Email Receipts to provide our Services to you.
Paper Receipts. You can also take pictures of your paper receipts using our App. By doing so, you authorize us to access, process, and retain information from these images to provide our Services to you. Paper receipts may include information about purchases, business transactions, and other personal information related to the transaction.
Pro Subscription Cloud Storage. If you subscribe to QuickReceipts Pro, your receipt data is automatically backed up to our secure cloud infrastructure to enable multi-device access and real-time sync. Pro cloud storage is encrypted in transit (using TLS/SSL) and at rest on our servers. Your cloud-stored data is accessible only by you through your authenticated account. You can request an export of your data at any time by contacting support@quickreceipts.co. If you cancel your Pro subscription, your identifiable cloud-stored receipt data will be deleted within 30 days, though we may retain anonymized and aggregated data for algorithm training and product improvement as described below.
Important: Pro subscription cloud backup does not grant us permission to use your receipt data for algorithm training, machine learning, or feature development. That permission is separate and requires your explicit opt-in through our Optional Data Usage Program described below.
Optional Data Usage Program. We offer all users—both free and Pro subscribers—the opportunity to participate in our optional data usage program to help improve QuickReceipts. By default, QuickReceipts processes all receipt data locally on your device. For free users who do not opt into our data usage program, we do not access, transmit, or store your receipt data on our servers.
If you opt into our data usage program:
We collect and use your data to:
Improve our receipt scanning, categorization, and analysis algorithms
Train and enhance our machine learning models
Develop new insights, analytics, and intelligent features (such as spending benchmarks, trend analysis, category insights, predictive features, and other data-driven functionality)
Provide you with enhanced features as we develop them
For free users who opt in:
We provide weekly cloud backup of your receipt data
For Pro users who opt in:
You receive priority consideration for future beta programs and direct input on new feature development
Your data in the program:
Is encrypted during transmission (TLS/SSL) and while stored on our servers
May be used in anonymized and aggregated form to develop features for all users
Will not be sold to third parties or used for third-party advertising
You can request an export of your data at any time by contacting support@quickreceipts.co. We will provide your data in a machine-readable format within 30 business days.
This data usage program is entirely optional for all users. You can opt in or opt out at any time without affecting your access to core QuickReceipts features or Pro subscription benefits.
Note: We never share with other users the Email Receipts, Paper Receipts, or any data that contains personal information, such as your email address, IP address, name, photo, phone numbers, postal addresses (for example, if it is included in your shipping information).
Push Notifications. If you opt in to receive push notifications, we will send you push notifications about new receipt processing status and reminder notifications to manage your receipts. If you no longer wish to receive these types of communications, you may turn them off at the device level.
By registering for a QuickReceipts Account, you may provide us with your information including, but not limited to:

We may also collect preferences and demographic information from you and about you from third parties. Additionally, we collect information about your website and app usage, sessions, actions, and how you interact with our applications. This data collection is intended to help us improve our features and your QuickReceipts experience.
Usage Data. We may collect data about your interactions with our Services, such as the features you use, the time spent on the App, and your navigation patterns. This information helps us understand how our App is being used and how we can enhance it.
Log Data. When you access our Services, we may automatically collect certain information sent by your browser or mobile device. This may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, information on actions taken, and dates and times of access.
We will retain information you provide when you communicate with us, such as any emails you send to customer support.
As is true of most websites and apps, we gather certain information automatically when you use our apps and visit our website. This information may include information on the type of device you use, operating system version and the device identifier (IDFA), internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, the files viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer the site.
QuickReceipts and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to analyze trends, administer our Services, track user interactions, and gather demographic information. Disabling cookies may limit certain features or functions. We do not use cross-device tracking and do not respond to Do Not Track requests. These technologies help us provide a personalized experience and track marketing effectiveness.
Advertising. Other apps and services may use cookies or similar technologies to provide you advertising based upon your browsing activities and interests on other apps and services. Provide and Improve Services. We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, provide, and personalize our Services and apps, and to research and develop new ones.

Analysis. Our Service may use certain information about you and/or your data internally for analytical purposes such as analyzing how our Services are used, diagnosing service or technical problems, and maintaining security.
We use analytics software to better understand the functionality of our software on your device. This software may record information such as how often you use the application, aggregated usage data, performance data, and where the application was downloaded from.
App Usage & Website Visitor Information. We use automatically collected information for a variety of purposes, including to:
remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your use of our Services;
provide custom content, and information;

fix technology problems reported by our users or engineers that are associated with certain IP addresses;
automatically update the application on your system and related devices.
Algorithm Training and Product Improvement. For users who opt into our data usage program, we use your cloud-stored receipt data to improve our scanning, categorization, and machine learning algorithms. We may use your data in anonymized and aggregated form for research, analytics, and developing new features. We do not use your receipt data for third-party advertising or sell it to third parties.
Local Storage (Default). By default, receipt data is processed and stored locally on your device. We do not retain this data on our servers.
Pro Subscription Cloud Storage. For Pro subscribers, we retain your cloud-stored receipt data while you maintain an active subscription. If you cancel your Pro subscription:

Anonymized Data. Anonymized and aggregated data cannot be used to identify you personally. This data helps us improve our algorithms and develop better features for all users. We retain anonymized data indefinitely unless you request its deletion.
Account Deletion. If you delete your QuickReceipts account entirely, we will delete all identifiable data associated with your account within 30 days. We may retain anonymized and aggregated data as described above, or you can request full deletion of all data by contacting support@quickreceipts.co.
Anonymized Data. When we anonymize your receipt data, we remove all information that could be used to identify you personally, including:
Your name, email address, and account identifiers
Device identifiers and IP addresses
Timestamps that could identify specific transactions
Any other personally identifiable information
Anonymized data may include:
Receipt categories, merchant types, and spending patterns (without identifying you)
Aggregated statistics across many users
Transaction amounts and dates (without linking them to you)
Use of Anonymized Data. We use anonymized data to:
Train and improve our machine learning algorithms
Develop spending benchmarks and insights
Create new features and analytics
Conduct research and product development
Anonymized data cannot be used to identify you and is not considered "personal data" under most privacy laws (including GDPR and CCPA). However, you can request deletion of anonymized data by contacting support@quickreceipts.co if you have concerns.
We will always request your consent before sharing any of your information in a way not discussed in this Policy. We take very seriously our responsibility to maintain the privacy of your personal information.
As permitted, we make certain information available to our service providers, partners, and other third parties. These third parties may include the following:
Service Providers & Vendors. We use service providers who assist us in meeting business operations needs, including hosting and delivering our Services. We also use service providers for specific services and functions, including email communication, customer support services, application development, data storage, and maintenance, and analytics. These service providers may only access, process, or store Personal Data pursuant to our instructions and to perform their duties to us.
For Pro subscribers and users who opt into our data usage program, we use third-party cloud infrastructure providers (such as Google Firebase) to securely store encrypted receipt data. These providers process data only as instructed by us and are contractually obligated to maintain appropriate security and confidentiality safeguards. We implement encryption both in transit and at rest to protect your data.
Analytics Partners. We partner with third party marketing and analytics services including but not limited to Mixpanel, Brevo, Apple App Store, and Google Analytics to help us market and understand use of the Services. These third-party partners may receive information about your use of our Services and information about your visits to other online services. These service providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide their services to us.
Legal Compliance. In certain situations, QuickReceipts may be required to disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement. We may disclose to: (a) conform to the law, comply with legal process served on us or our affiliates, or investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities; (b) to enforce our Terms of Service, take precautions against liability, to investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations, to assist government enforcement agencies, or to protect the security or integrity of our site; and (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of ourselves, our Services, customers, or others.
Please note: Our policy is to notify you of legal process seeking access to your information, such as search warrants, court orders, or subpoenas, unless we are prohibited by law from doing so. In cases where a court order specifies a non-disclosure period, we provide delayed notice after the expiration of the non-disclosure period. Exceptions to our notice policy include exigent or counterproductive circumstances, for example, when there is an emergency involving a danger of death or serious physical injury to a person.
Corporate Change or Business Transfer. It is your responsibility to keep your passwords private and secure. We strongly recommend against sharing your logins and passwords with others.
We take the protection of your information very seriously and employ measures through administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We encrypt all data in transit and at rest. We take reasonable precautions to ensure the integrity and security of our network and systems, but cannot guarantee these security measures will prevent third parties from obtaining information by illegal actions or attacks.
This notice applies to natural persons who are residents of California for compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”). QuickReceipts does not sell and will not sell your personal information, including in the past 12 months, regardless of your age. Right to Opt-Out of Data Usage. If you are enrolled in our optional data usage program, you can opt out at any time from your account settings. Upon opt-out, we will stop processing new receipt data and will delete your identifiable data within 30 days, though we may retain anonymized data as described in our Data Retention section.
Right to Data Portability. You can request an export of your receipt data at any time in a machine-readable format by contacting support@quickreceipts.co. We will provide your data within 30 business days. This applies to both Pro subscribers and data usage program participants.
Verification. QuickReceipts verifies requests made via email by first sending a confirmation email to the account connected with the Services, verification is completed when you reply to that email confirming the request. If a request is made on your device from within the QuickReceipts app, then the request for data is confirmed via a pop-up in the app.
Response Time. QuickReceipts responds promptly to all requests, but will confirm receipt of requests within 10 days, and respond within 45 days from the day you made the request. If additional response time is necessary, up to 45 days, QuickReceipts will provide you notice and explanation.
Who may make a request. Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf as your agent, may make a request related to your personal information.
Denials. If we are unable to verify the request, the request is unlawful, or exceeds your rights under the CCPA, we will deny the request.
Non-Discrimination. You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by QuickReceipts for the exercise of your privacy rights under the CCPA.

The QuickReceipts app may only read Gmail message bodies (including attachments), metadata, headers, and settings to provide an email client that allows users to read and manage their email receipts. We will not transfer this Gmail data to others unless doing so is necessary to provide and improve these features, comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
The QuickReceipts app will not use this Gmail data for serving advertisements.
The QuickReceipts app will not allow humans to read this data unless we have your affirmative agreement for specific messages, doing so is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, to comply with applicable law, or for the QuickReceipts’ internal operations and even then only when the data have been aggregated and anonymized.
